THE RETURN OF RUBEN BLADES provides a vibrant portrait of Salsa King/actor Ruben Blades. As an actor, Blades has performed in a variety of television series and films, including GIDEON'S CROSSING and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO. As a musician, he has helped to popularize salsa music, and won a Grammy for his work. The film follows Blades as he looks back at his time at Harvard, where he earned a Master's Degree in International Relations, to his home country of Panama where he ran for president, and to California and New York for musical performances. Featured performers include Linda Ronstadt and Pete Hamill and the film includes the hit songs "Buscando America" and "Silensios."
